Food Service Supervisor
• Supervise employees engaged in serving food in the nursing home
• Manage and train employees maintaining cleanliness of food service areas and equipment
• Assign and coordinate work of employees to promote efficiency of operations.
• Inspect kitchen and dining areas and kitchen utensils and equipment to ensure sanitary standards are met.
• Keep records, such as amount and cost of meals served and hours worked by employees.
• Appropriate and inspect foodstuffs, supplies, and equipment to maintain stock levels and ensure standards of quality are met.
• Test cooked food by tasting and smelling it in order to ensure palatability and flavor conformity.
• Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations.
• Prepare work schedules and evaluates work performance of employees.
• Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents in order to verify product quality and quantity.
• Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food in order to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner.
• Monitor budgets and payroll records, and review financial transactions in order to ensure that expenditures are authorized and budgeted.
• May assist Dietitian, clinical in planning menus.
• Schedule staff hours and assign duties.
• May interview, select, or hire new employees.
• Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving, and building maintenance in lodging and dining facilities.
• Coordinate assignments of cooking personnel in order to ensure economical use of food and timely preparation.
• Keep records required by government agencies regarding sanitation, and food subsidies when appropriate.
Requirement:
• Preferably experienced in the Nursing home, hospital or any healthcare facility
• ServSafe Certification
